Ask and you shall receive! Lately so many of you have been emailing and DMing me asking for my skincare routine and my favorite beauty products and today I am spilling the (beauty) beans!
I take so much pride in my skin. For 30 I think I have pretty good skin. Not to toot my own horn, but I still get carded and when I got a facial this afternoon the gal said I looked 25. I’ll take it! Besides the occasional facial or microdermabrasion I’ve gotten nothing “done” to my skin. No fillers, no Botox, nothin’.
Below I am sharing my complete daily skincare routine and the products I use!
First things first- coffee. Before I can function in the morning I need my coffee. “Meghan, what does this have to do with your skincare routine?” you ask? Collagen! I put a scoop of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides in my first cup of coffee every morning! I have been using this product fir about 6 months and have seen not only a dramatic improvement in my skin, but also my hair and nails!
Once awake, I use Purpose to wash my face. It gently cleanses without drying or irritating my skin and removes dirt, oil and make-up without stripping skin like soap can. Purpose is ideal for all skin types, even sensitive skin. I started using it back in high school and still love it. Walker even uses it now and totally loves it too!
Once my face is clean I use Drunk Elephant’s C-Firma Day Serum. Because I have melamsa, I have dark spots and patched on my hair line in my forehead, on the tops of my cheeks and also on my upper lip. I’ve tried tons of products to lessen their appearance, even prescription bleaching creams but Drunk Elephant’s C-Firma Day Serum has almost completely gotten rid of them! Vitamin C products are great for any discoloration in the skin- age spots, acne scars… This super-potent vitamin C day serum is packed with a powerful antioxidant complex, essential nutrients, fruit enzymes, and a chronopeptide. My favorite thing about this product? It stays active on the skin for 72 hours! It can’t be washed or rubbed off!
Next I use Drunk Elephant’s B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel. This hydrating gel is packed with vitamin B5 that replenishes nutrients to the skin while delivering hydration throughout the day to improve the look of skin texture and tone. I love the gel texture of this because it’s so light but provides so much moisture!
Next I apply a small amount of Drunk Elephant’s Virgin Marula Oil. I like to pat this product in verse rubbing it in. This luxury facial oil is high in critical antioxidants, to deeply moisturize, nourish, soothe, and rejuvenate your skin while restoring its youthful glow. Who doesn’t want a youthful glow?! Though an oil this Virgin Marula Oil isn’t heavy or sticky! I let it sit for a couple minutes and my skin soaks it all up!
I love using a moisturizer with SPF in it during the day. SPF is the most important thing you can apply to your skin and I like having a 2 in 1 product. So next, I apply Neutrogena’s Triple Age Repair Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 25. I completely stumbled upon this product. I was visiting Walker in Sherman and ran out of my day time moisturizer and piked this product up at Walmart to use “just for the weekend” and I fell in love with this product! This anti-wrinkle moisturizer helps even skin tone and visibly firm skin and has a SPF 25 in it.
I use the above product for “everyday” use- under my makeup, for running errands… But if I know I’m going to be out in the sun- on vacation, going to a sporting event, having brunch on a patio… I use Drunk Elephant’s Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30. it’s a sheer sunscreen that delivers powerful broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection and helps aid in the prevention of free radical and oxidative damage, as well as photoaging for a more youthful-looking complexion. I love this sunscreen because it doesn’t feel or smell “sunscreen-y” and does’t leave my face chalky or white.
Throughout the day I use Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm. It’s a moisturizing and volumizing lip balm that helps nourish delicate lips for noticeably plump, youthful looking lips. It also smells and testes SO good!
I mentioned Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides earlier, but there’s also two more Vital Proteins products I incorporate into my day. For breakfast I have a green juice and I add Vital Protein’s Collagen Beauty Water. I like the Melon Mint flavor. This Collagen Beauty Water helps rescue thinning hair, dull skin and brittle nails. Though I add it to my green juice, you could add it to any drink, even plain water. As an afternoon snack I have Vital Protein’s Beef Bone Broth.
Now onto my nighttime routine! Every other day I use my Clarisonic before bed. On the days I don’t use my Clarisonic I use Andalou Naturals Radiant Skin Polish, which is my favorite exfoliant. Walker uses this as well! It’s great for guys who get razor burn on their face. It opens up the pores so the hairs don’t become ingrown.
Every other night before bed I like to do a face mask. I alternate between a liquid/cream masks and sheet masks. For cream masks I love Glamglow Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment, ClarityRx Rise and Shine Lifting Collagen Mask and Rodial Dragon’s Blood Hyaluronic Mask. Glamglow Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment is a non-drying hydration mask that delivers instant moisture. It’s great for dry and uneven skin textures. ClarityRx Rise and Shine Lifting Collagen Mask is packed with essential nutrients and vitamins, amino acids and natural oils. Bosnia Charcoal Pore-Minimizing Hydrogel Mask cleanses the skin, reduces the appearance of pores and removes blackheads and whiteheads. Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle 24k Gold Intense Wrinkle Sheet Mask instantly energizes and illuminates dull, dry, and dehydrated skin leaving you with a smooth and hydrated complexion. Dr. Jart+ All That Contours Hydrogel Expansion Stretch Mask is specially designed to lift skin and improve elasticity.
On night’s I mask I try to use my facial steamer before I apply the mask. I feel like this really opens up my pores and allows all the mask goodness to really get in there and do it’s thang. I use it for about thirty minutes and it’s a great time to catch up on emails before bed or hey, watch Insta Stories.
On night’s I don’t use a mask I first apply Drunk Elephant’s T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum. Ok, I bet you’re thing, “Ugh, Megs there’s been a lot of ‘Drunk Elephant’ talk… is this a sponsored post?”. “No!” is the answer to that. This retinol oil boosts the look and feel of skin’s plumpness, while improving the appearance of wrinkles, redness, and pores for visibly younger-looking skin. How amazing is that?! I also like to pat in this oil verses rubbing it in. **I will put this on post mask on nights I use a mask. After this step I try to use my Jade roller for at least 30 minutes.
Next up is Belief’s True Cream Moisturizing Bomb. This is the most creamy moisturizer I’ve ever used! I apply a thin layer of this on my entire face and I feel like it just locks all that beauty goodness in! **I will put this on post mask on nights I use a mask.
Last but not least, Drunk Elephant’s Shaba ComplexEye Serum. My crow’s feet have always been an area of concern for me and for years have left me self-conscious about my skin’s appearance. This eye serum is a silky formula packed with ingredients that tackle the major signs of aging under and around the eyes. **I will put this on post mask on nights I use a mask.
