Mint juleps are one of Walks’ favorite drinks and the crushed ice and refreshing mint make them a perfect summer sipper but with all the sugar in the traditional recipe calories can add up quickly! Today I am sharing a lightened up recipe perfect for guilt free sippin’.
Ingredients:
Leaves from 5-6 sprigs of fresh mint
2 packets stevia sweetener
3 ounces bourbon whiskey
2 cups crushed ice
Mint sprigs for garnish
1/2 cup club soda
Directions:
Combine mint and stevia in a julep cup
Grind this mixture with a muddler or wooden spoon until you smell a strong mint aroma
Add bourbon and half the ice
Mix with a stirrer until the cup gets frosty
Top with an additional scoop of ice, club soda and bunch of mint
